Melton Mowbray Council - Another Cumulative Impact Policy is removed!

09 Jan
2023

On 20th December the Full Council at Melton Mowbray met to consider the adoption of a new licensing policy for the period 2022-2027.

It is reported that at the meeting the new draft policy was adopted.

Perhaps the point of most interest to Operators is that as part of the approval of the licensing policy, the existing Cumulative Impact Policy (CIP) previously in place has been removed. This follows a recent trend (following the COVID Pandemic) across a number of licensing  Authority’s in different parts of the country. This will undoubtedly be welcomed by Operators in these difficult times for  the Leisure Industry.

The adoption followed a recommendation for the removal of the CIP by the Licensing Committee for Melton Mowbray area at a meeting on 21st November 202 which itself followed a three-month public consultation.

We shall continue to keep you updated on similar developments elsewhere.
